Smart Southern Homes will provide you with a custom low voltage circuit design specific to your project. This type of wiring design is commonly referred to as Structured Wring. Structured wiring is a type of wiring method for all of your low voltage wiring – voice/phone, data, computer networks, internet, audio, video and security. All of these wires are ran directly and independent to a “head end” location pre-determined in your home then managed in a rack or wall panel, depending on the amount of wires. They are then connected here to all of your equipment.
Structured Wiring enclosures and racks were developed as a means to centralize and organize the miles of Cables and individual System Panels required to distribute Multi-Room TV, Camera Video, Phone Service, Multi-Room Audio, and PC Network & Internet services, to each room in a home. Structured wiring takes the concept of structured cabling, as practiced in demanding commercial applications, and combines it with multimedia.
Structured Wiring Panels and racks vary in size; plan on a wall area of no less than 4' high by 4' wide for the Panel and Cables in a service area such as a garage, attic, or basement. The Structured Wiring method of distribution is best suited to new construction when the walls are still "open", however it is still a viable solution for an existing home that offers access to the desired rooms via an attic or basement.
Structured Wiring future proofs your new home in two ways. The first is by installing multimedia outlets where you need them today, as well as, where you'll want them as your needs and technologies change. The second is through the versatility and adaptability of a structured wiring system. Good "true" structured wiring systems can handle MORE INFORMATION and TRANSMIT IT FASTER!
